lets keep this!

i am LIVID. i was browsing around nkotbfans.com and someone posted about a new blog over on nkotb.com from jonathan. apparently the other week after their ft lauderdale gig some girls were following his and jordans bus and they forced them to drive the wrong way. not only that, but the girls themselves knowing they were going the wrong way, continued to follow the band.. i mean wtf is up with that?? her excuse was that she was being 16 again.. stupidstupidstupidstupid…

not only did her selfish action put her own life (and her friends) but jon and possibly jordans life at risk as well since they both share a bus. i mean losing two new kids is bad enough, but if it had been joes bus it would have been just as, if not more, horrible.. he has his little baby boy and wife with him plus their nanny… jesus h christ people.

i have never ever gotten the whole following the bus thing. i mean if i meant to meet someone, ill meet them where i saw them. not following over state lines and into different regions. thats just crazy. crazy ass fans, a few rotten apples ruining it for the bunch. cows. moo.

i will be fair and have my own story, but mine was an accident and we were all going in the same direction. i remember when i went to see dmb in washington, dc and as shannon, barry and i were all leaving the city about 1am we accidentally landed next to LeRois (r.i.p.) bus. he was sitting in the front seat eating some noodles and smiling.. we tried to catch up a little (not going nuts cause those buses are massive) to see if we could get him to wave, but when we realized after 10 minutes or so we wouldnt, we gave up. our small adventure happened on accident and the bus and us were all going the right way down i-95 towards virginia

ugh. stupid people shoud just die.

edit:

joe has posted a blog, kinda to counteract jons… but yeah.. some people DONT get it and you need to be more than blunt with them.

Edit 2:

Thank you to everyone who is responding and agreeing. Its a real shame theres a few select some that cant be adults :( Im sorry I cant respond to everyone directly – but if you want to talk you can email me at alternageek@gmail.com to continue the discussion further.

Thank you VERY much to the new kids web(blog)master who saw my trackback and allowed my comment to be posted

It’s not worth risking lives over!
Great show in St. Louis by the way! Keep it real!

  4. Jennifer T. of San Diego....going to the Omaha show!! Says:

    Jon,
I couldn’t agree with you more & as a long time fan of NKOTB, I’d be out kicking some a** on the idiots who claim to be adults in doing something so ignorant and very irresponsible! Ok people…GROW UP please and act like adults, if you can’t then don’t involve innocent people.
Can’t wait to see you Jon & the guys in Omaha tomorrow!! I drove all the way from San Diego, CA last week for the concert. I like long drives a s means of quiet time to think and see the country….plus knowing I get to meet & greet you guys finally after all these years!! I did meet you twice though in 1995 when you were in Orlando, FL working with hot air balloons.
I made your concert a reason to visit with the family for an early Turkey Day!!! Can’t wait to see you all!! Take care & way to go in standing your ground!!! Be safe!

Always, Jennifer T. of San Diego, CA

  5. Becky Says:

Wow, this is serious stuff people! What are you thinking? I’m glad everyone is safe, but this is really getting out of hand. The NKOTB’s are people just like us who have families, friends and lives!
Lets not let a few spoil it for the safety of ANYONE!
    Crazy!~
    Be Safe EVERYONE!

  6. Karen Says:

Seriously people are stupid. Did they really think that they would pull the bus over and hang out w/ them?!?!?!
What makes you sooo more special from all their other die hard fans huh? NADA MUCHO!!
Its jerks like them that cause the tragic accidents that occur on our Nation’s highways everyday. The stupid people trying to outrun, speed past, or catch a glimpse of a star.
Think people before you go and do something stupid like that again. Its NOT worth dying over or getting other inncent people killed.

  7. Jen Says:

First off, I have never left a response before but I feel this needs one from someone who knows. Wake up girls! We aren’t in our teens anymore. We are suppose to be responsible adults and one of those responsibilties is to drive safely. I know too well the dangers of careless driving. My family was involed in an accident by a careless driver leaving my children with no grandfather! Pay attention to the road!!!! You can have fun but when you put other people’s lives in dangers, it’s not fun anymore!
    -Jen

  8. michelle Says:

I agree with Jon. Don’t be stupid and act like that. It’s great to meet a star but to get them in danger is very stupid. People think befor you doing something. Someone or my selk could get killed and my life is very important to me/ Espically my 2 year old son. I;m his world and he only has me.

Please think before you do something. Jon keep doing what you do best. Love ya

  9. Mercy Says:

Absolutely f***ing ridiculous putting other peoples lives in danger! How can you expect the boys to continue lovin and respectin their fans when the stupid few of you show no respect to them, their lives, their families. I am so glad Jon, Jordan, and everyone on the bus is safe. To you stupid ass few— Chill out, RESPECT other people, and don’t f*** it up for the rest of the fans!!!

  10. Hashi Says:

Oh good lord I remember readin the post Jon is talking about, and thinking what were these girls doing. I mean why would you follow them? I mean you got it right from Jon its not like ther gonna stop and say “hello how are you doing? oh and by the way thanks for nearly killing me and my borther”. Stupid stupid stupid. After my concert I just left, we didnt even think they’d come out after all they had just performed for hours, its nice enough that they come out and say hi to us. So we shouldnt be showing them our gratitude by nearly killing them.

  11. toni Says:

Thank God everyone is alright! I can’t believe you call yourself an adult. It’s great and all to catch a glimpse or run into a star in the store but please to put their and your life endanger? I love Jon and the guys greatly and would be deeply saddened if any harm came to them. It was sad enough to see Jordan hurt recently. By the way, way to tell them Jonathan!Unbelievable. Please people be responsible and safe out there. Please come back to AZ soon. The day you guys came I had to go to California! What luck.:( Hoping to catch a concert soon! Toni

Please note: I am claiming to be some NKOTB team member or nuffin, the website is where I look for official NKOTB news :D
    ——————————–
O My goosh, now it is so lucky we have had a post from you Jon about the dangers when it could have been a post that said something about ‘is seriously injured/fatal’ :(

I think it is good you reminded people that we are all human including you guys, and really not invincible, and must therefore try and remember our heads sometimes else someone may inadvertently lose theirs/cause loss of life.

I am sooooo glad you guys are all right and I am so sorry you got such a nasty nasty fright :(

I know the feeling in a way as a friend was once driving eratically and overtaking while I was unseatbelted in back with friends and being an avid Casualty (UK Hospital Drama) watcher at the time, I started a long wailing scream and covered my head with a cushion as I saw headlights coming towards us on a dark road through bushes :O, my friends thought it was funny when I was still having visions of a mangled wreck overturned with subsequent injuries or fatalities :(

I hope people take heed and as you guys say in This Ones For The Children, “This is a very serious message, so everyone, please listen”… Premonition or what…

Take care and hope you don’t relive this nasty experience in insomniotic flashback, or have cause to experience it again.

  14. Wendy Says:

Jon, you are so right to be pissed off at stupid girls.
AND to the Girls I know Jon is HOT but enough is enough the man is not going to take you home to his family or even give you a one night stand he is way to smart to fall for stupid people that chace him down. I mean I Love him to but think about most of you have boyfriends or husbands and kids is it really worth risking your life to say HI to any of the mambers of NKOTB or risk there life NO WAY. I went to the Providence RI. 11/6/08 and I enjoyed NO I LOVED seeing them and yes I screamed and jumped and felt 13 againbut when the show was over I went home to be a mommy again and I have to say I missed the hell out of my 4 boys when I was at trhe show I must of called my husband 50 times to check on them because it was my first time leaving them for even a second in 10 rs. and it felt way good to get out but I would never risk my life to meet anyone knowing I could leave my kids with out a mommy just the thought tears me up. So I guess I am trying to say STOP THINKING ABOUT YOUR SELF LADYS AND THINK ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES AND NKOTB. And for all of you who think it is worth it to risk your life and any member of NKOTB all I have to say is GROW THE F*** UP.
AND to NKOTB I do love all I grew up loving you and I have been to 2 concerts my whole life 1988 New Kids and 2008 New Kids I just wanted to tell you all THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
    Wendy

  15. Paula Says:

I am a big fan of yours and I pray that everytime you get on that bus and or whatever transportation that you are taking that the good lord be with all of you and keep you safe. Life is so fragile that we must embrace it every day. Please girls…THINK about what you are doing…These MEN have done some much for us and the least we can do is “give them some space”….thankyou for the awesome concert @ Mohegan Sun….I cried most of the time.!!…..GOD BLESS YOU ALL

  16. Mick Says:

This is sooo serious. Let’s keep in mind ladies sometimes when this happens the guys aren’t even on the bus. These drivers are up for hours and hours and have a hard enough job without us acting like idiots. The drivers have families to that they would like to return home to safely.

  17. TAMMY BRINGGER Says:

Oh My Gosh I am not believing some one was so idiotic Jon I am so soory I promise you not all us Floridian are SUPID who ever did this GROW UP AND GET A CLUE!

  18. TaraBelle Says:

    Jon!
I really don’t blame ya honey! I mean, I know that you guys appreciate the fans but that was a bit extreme. I know we are all a bit older now and that really acting that way isn’t gonna make anyone 16 again! This gal should at least apologize
    MUCH LOVE JON!
    Tara, Nashville,TN

  19. Babs Bunny Says:

People are so stupid. And you KNOW there’s going to be the section of people who aren’t going to listen. Who instead are just going to go, “Oh, the usually quiet Jonathan is all mad, innat ky0000te” and not listen to anything the fellow has to say and as such continue the stupid behaviour.

    Good gravy. -.-

  20. johanna carpenter Says:

I am so happy that you all are ok and I hope that  people can just grow up

  21. Lynn Says:

Glad that u guys are alright!! I was also outraged readin’ that story. BE SAFE GUYS and LUV Ya’ and to the DRIVER of the NKOTB Bus: “thanks for taking care of our FAB 5.. GOD BLESS… Lynn, Las Vegas, Nevada

  22. Oky Says:

sad fact. You guys need a personal escort from the local authorities whenever you’re on the road to keep these idiots out! Please people, dont endanger their lives including yourself. Be considerate!

  23. Paige Says:

When I read his post, I was literally nauseous at the thought of the stupidity of other people.

I felt so bad for Jon and think the chicks who did it should be ashamed of themselves!

  24. Wendy Layton Says:

You soo have the right to be Pissed Jonathan. In fact I probably would have said alot more, in alot of colorful ways.
Some people just don’t think with both sides of their brain. In my eyes they don’t “love” guys the way they say they do, if they are willing to in-danger Your lives and your drivers life.
Well I hope the rest of your travels are less stressful and alot more safe for all of you.
I’m wishing You all the best.
    With love, Wendy

  25. KRISTAL Says:

I would just like to make a safer suggestion. It is always better to get the bus driver’s phone number and text him all day like I did. You won’t meet Jordan and Jon that way either but it was still fun!!LOL! By the way St. Louis rocked!!!

P.S. Your driver should have my number if you want to call me!haha!

  26. Autumn Says:

Jon, I respect you for your statment….

I feel you to the fullest for coming out and saying what you did. And who ever gets offended by it or gets thier feelings hurts needs some self evaluation. Not only do people fail to realize that you guys are people just like us but, this is not fantasy land and we are grown a** people “grow up”. You guys have lives families and some of y’all are married. Thats crazy…

    peace love and blessings…

  27. Lili Says:

Is it really worth it driving like a psycho maniac to get a picture or quick glance of Jon? What dumbasses. Don’t get me wrong, I think Jon is hot and all, but I would never put myself in danger for anything. Unless I was saving someone’s life. Just put the intention to be safe everytime you walk in and out of that bus Jon.

I just recently got into a bad car accident, and thank god I am ok, but now I’m a lil scared when I drive. So before I get in my car I put the intention to be safe. Have you seen the secret? I believe that putting that intention works…and its calmed me down too!

Sending you lots of love…been a fan since I was 7!

  28. April Says:

Uumm, yea!…I’m glad you said what you did, Jon…Grown women get a little toooo nostalgiac. You all are REAL people. Grown folks need to behave like adults….Especially when It comes down to putting not just YOUR lives at stake, but THEIR lives as well…People “NEED TO GET THEIR MINDS RIGHT”!
    Peace & Luv

  29. MEGHAN Says:

JON, PLEASE REMEMBER WE R NOT ALL LIKE THAT! WE DO CARE FOR YOUR SAFETY! IF YOUR NOT AROUND WE CANT HEAR OR SEE YOU PERFORM! WE LOVE U AND WE R SORRY FOR STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!!!

  30. Johanna (crazy jumping girl 9 rows back in Tampa!) Says:

Being 16 means… jumping up and down and crying while screaming the songs on the top of your lungs (which I did) at the concert. Looking at posters, playing songs over and over again… crushing on your Fav.. (or now in my older years crushing on them ALL!! haha… )
NOT DRIVING PEOPLE off the road.
Damn! I’m glad you are all ok… only takes one to ruin it for many! I will always say this… and this is especially the case!

But this is one thing I can say… NKOTB fever is still alive and well… 20 years later! and now we all have the money to fed the fever! When is the DVD of the concert coming out? :)

  31. Annamaria Says:

I just want to say, way to go Jon! I am so happy you wrote that. i was just at the ac concert and me and the girls that were with me were frightened for our lives. There were too many stupid fans that were trampling us over to get into the concert and just to get bracelets. People need to grow up! We had an awesome time once we got in though and we all love you guys! Everyone stop being stupid before you hurt someone. We are all human beings!

  32. Shonda Says:

I have never understood the crazed, obnoxious taking their clothes off kind of fan. What are they thinking they will get out of acting the way they do. … Jonathan and Jordan, I thank god neither the two of you or your bus driver were hurt. I also send you wishes of safety throughout the rest of the tour.
    Shonda

  33. DB Says:

I could not agree more with you, Jon. People be careful do act stupid and wind up getting yourselves killed and anyone else on the road.

Those tour buses do not stop on a dime–just like a semi–or a train. Use common sense, people.

I am glad you and everyone on the bus are safe, Jon.

  34. karen Says:

who ever that was needs to really grow up and sit down some where i tatally agree with jon it is ok to act young again but not behind the wheel of a car come on now if you hurt them then who are you going to go ape **** about lots of love

  35. DB Says:

the previous comment should do not act stupid–computer glitch, sorry.

  36. ashli Says:

I do agree some people act ridiculous and do not think. It would be a shame to see someone get hurt because someone was in their face.I would’ve been scared and mad too-because I worry all the time about getting in an accident anyway. I am one of Jon’s biggest fans-but I would try to talk to him while he’s not in moving vehicle going down the interstate.Maybe this will make people be more careful.Glad u and everyone are okay Jonathan!

  37. Heather Says:

I can totally agree where Jon is coming from! So, pleeasse think before you act!! Let’s keep this!!

  38. Heather Says:

I can totally agree where Jon is coming from! So, pleeasse think before you act!! Let’s keep this fun ride that we are all on going!!

  39. Crystal Says:

Ya know, on the way home from last nights show (11/10) in STL…we noticed an accident and instantly freaked out. We were calmed when we didn’t see a bus…but the thought of someone losing their life tragically like that really upset us. All I gotta say to the girls chasing down your bus is…SHAME ON YOU! Everything else has already basically been said on here and hopefully if they read this they will learn a lesson. Sure, the thought of meeting up with you after the show would be a dream come true…but I’m certainly not going to risk my life or yours to do it. There comes a time in life when you grow up…for those few stupid people out there, consider this your wake up call.

  40. MELISSA Says:

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH JON! I DON’T BLAME HIM FOR MAKING THAT COMMENT. NKOTB ALL HAVE FAMILY’S AND THEIR LIVES ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THEIR LOVE ONES AND US FAN’S WE ARE ADULTS WE NEED TO BE RESPONABLE. COME ON PEOPLE GROW UP DON’T ACT LIKE YOUR 2!!!! RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE LIFES. IF YOU WANT TO DO STUPID STUFF DO IT IN YOUR LIFE AND YOUR TIME NOT SOMEONE ELSE’S. WE ALL LIKE TO MEET ARE FAVORITE STAR BUT THE RIGHT WAY NOT WRONG. PEOPLE THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!! GET YOUR MIND RIGHT!! TAKE CARE JONATHAN BE SAFE AND THE REST OF THE NKOTB!!!!!XOXOX MELISSA

  41. Crystal Says:

I think that is crazy…I don’t know what people are thinking when they do something that stupid. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. hope to hear more from Jon.

  42. dee Says:

Thank you for posting this blog Jon, I lost my mother due to a person driving in the wrong lane. Please young ladies be careful, we don’t want to lose any loves ones.
Please remember they are human beings just like us. Do your meet and greet at the concerts, and let the men leave for their next concert, so other fans can meet them.
    Thank god everything went well.

  43. Detroit Skye Says:

    Jon,

OMG…I am so glad you both are allright. I pray for your safety every night so to hear this really disturbed me. I think we should just be respectful. I don’t understand why adults(even feeling like teenagers again)wouldn’t think about how stupid that was. As a critical care nurse who works ICU and ER I have seen my share of traumas and don’t wanna EVER hear of you guys being in one. Maybe these ppl need to visit a busy ER for a night and really get the whole picture. I hope you got their liscense plate numbers and reported them.

    Love you all! Be safe!

    Detroit Skye

  44. kelly Says:

thanks for writing about this jon, i’m so glad you and the rest of the New Kids are OK… stay safe! xoxo Kelly in fort lauderdale

  45. Vero F. Says:

Wow…I’m so glad nothing tragic occurred. I agree there are crazy fans out there. Glad you expressed yourself the way you did. Hopefully they listen. Don’t worry I don’t drive..so you will never see me doing that kind of crap!!!

  46. Charlette Says:

I agree with the majority. And yes ladies you following their bus is not going to get you an invitation to their hotel room so stop trying!! So EFFFING pathetic it makes me sick!!

  47. Lisa C Says:

Well, I am so glad you posted this, Jon! There are so many “dedicated” New Kids fans who act like they are kids not 20 or 30 something adults. I attended the St. Louis show last night which was absolutely positively incredible and awesome!! Saying that, did I FEEL like I was back in junior high again and reliving history? Yes! Did I ACT like it? No! I wish my fellow fans would act more mature and be respectful to our Fave 5 and our fellow fans. These guys are awesome and I appreciate what they do, so give them their space cause Lord knows they value it! Thanks again, Jon, for posting this and, by the way, you are my favorite!! <3 Love ya!!

  48. moccabutterfly Says:

WTF is wrong with people! I could not believe what I was reading. I cant even imagine the horror of riding on that bus that night, I lost my cousin in an auto accident NOT F***ing cute to play around on the highway with anyone! Way to speak up Jon, I’m glad your safe! ~hugs~

  49. Sherilyn Says:

I can’t believe what I am hearing! Some people really need to act their age. I am sorry this happened to you. Thank God you, Jordan and your crew made it safely through this incident! If things went the other way I don’t know what I would do without you guys. I will pray to God that these people hear your words and learn from their mistakes.

    With love from Toronto
    Sherilyn

  50. Elizabeth Says:

Unfortunately there isn’t an age cap off for stupidity, but following NKOTB’s tour bus and having the camera’s flashes go off on the drivers eyes is flat out ignorant and stupid. That’s just as bad as what paparazzi did to Princess Diana. Hey, I would love to meet NKOTB (specially Jordan) as much as any other fan. That’s the reason they give out backstage passes. Plus, sometimes the guys are nice enough to meet their fans after the shows before they board their buses….Ladies, (and a few gents)let’s keep our NKOTB safe so that they may go back home to their families in one piece. Who knows, maybe they might continue this reunion for a while longer. Stop the BS and give them their privacy after the shows!!!!! Way to go Jon for voicing your concern on this matter. By the way, thanks for a rockin show in Tampa.

  51. Aimee Says:

WTF? This tour is about the MEMORIES not about “I’m gonna effing stalk the NKOTB” Grow the eff up!

Prolly the same stupid bitchez who stole their laundry out the laundromat back int he day.

  52. kelly Says:

Damn! the fans have spoken!! stop freakin’ out on these poor ladies, they made a bad judgment call. I am sorry that Jon and his driver had a bad experience with this whole thing. live and learn mabey this will deter nuttso fans from following the buses but i don’t think so. Good luck on that ever happening.

  53. Stacie Says:

My god, I am so sorry to hear that people cannot act with respect and responsibility. Especially to a group that I for one am exstatic to have back!! I think whomever this was will hopefully get the point. Death should NOT be an ocupational hazard…. On a happier note, you guys are still AMAZING and I can’t wait to hear more of what you “want to say”. I LOVE IT!!Keep keeping it real and lots of love from Boston!!!

  54. Celeste Says:

It would seem that people are more interested in reliving those crazy teenaged years where they used to chase Jordan and Jonathan’s bus than they are about safety. Lord knows Jonathan is already edgy because of this latest incident.
Please ladies don’t put your lives or the guy’s lives at risk because you want to chase after their buses.
We should love them enough to give them space when they need it.

  55. liset Says:

Im sorry to hear you guys have to go through this… it’s very unfortunate that GROWN woman act this way.. Yes, I understand everyone is sooooo stoked over you guys .. but come on ladies … 15 years ago i understand we were all immature kids but now we are all middle aged woman we have to get it together… lets have some CLASS and act like the LADIES that we are…

  56. jenn Says:

just goes to show that some fans out thier will go so far as to ruin it for the rest of us and it sucks. If the ladies that are supposed to be adults doing this GROW THE HELL UP!! YOU ARENT 12 ANY FREAKING MORE .

  57. LC&TDM Says:

Ladies please let’s get it together. And remember that your actions affect others. Be responcable. And we may get anouther tour. Don’t go ruining things for other people because of your selfishness for yourself.

  58. collette Says:

WOW!! i just read that blog from Jon, thats crazy!! and sad ! i want to meet them as much as any one but chasing them down! following them?? putting there lives and there family’s lives at risk is scary and so sad (HELLO PRINCESS DIANA RING A BELL) only difference it that was not done by fans !!you all who wait for them follow them, are gonna get them killed all cause you want to see them .GROW UP! i was recently at there concert in North Carolina and my daughter and i did not no the area at all we where driving in circles trying to get to the high way any way i drove up to a huge crowd of people the concert was way!! over and there where a ton of people out side waiting ,so i asked driving by what are you waiting for ?? they said the guys where to come out that way .as much as i wanted so much to meet them i moved on ,they just did a 2 hour show ,i am sure after doing all there meet and greets and the concert they where very tired and the last thing they wanted was hundreds of girls, and women chasing them, they where more then likely going to there privet!! space meaning (TOUR BUS OR HOTEL) means they did there job met people who paid ,or won VIP to meet them. and there concert after that’s done leave them be ! they will end up in an WRECK if people keep acting stupid .and if you follow them to the hotel do ya really thing there gonna say hey ! ya you followed me here so come on in to my room YA! NO! not gonna happen they are wiped out . i know they love there fans they say it all the time but, they are people!!Joe has a wife and baby ! others need sleep and for there safety .JON’S SO RIGHT!! don’t follow them ,it will go know where but someone our all of them guy will end up dead ,i hope it stops i really do ,i was socked how many people where just standing there waiting to ambush them .

i am as big a fan as any one so from one fan to another keep those guys and there family’s safe don’t follow them PLEASE!!!it will end badly.

    collette

  59. debbie Says:

Oh my god, thank God everyone is allright!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so sorry that there are a few crazy fans, let them think before doïng stuff like this, unbelievable people can be that stupid.

    Lots of love debbie,netherlands

  60. Rae Says:

So Jon, did you like our “Hi Matt” sign tonight in KC? LOL

Can I just say he is the nicest person in the world. We had lunch with him and heard this story. He was just as freaked out hy it. He told us what happened and it was just as you explained.

Hope the rest of the tour will be more chill for you!

As a Donnie girl, I find you so fastinating Jon!! Tell Matt hi from Rae & Jessica :)

    See you next summer :)

  61. Pol Says:

This is the reason way they split up in the first place……because of stupid people!!

How ridiculous. I mean why would you do that….and what is meant by feeling 16 again?

People need to take responsibility of their actions. This includes adults and teenagers etc!! So even if she was feeling 16 ……you don’t lose your common sense. We are talking about life and death situation. I just don’t understand some people why they get so childish…..

Go to concerts….enjoy yourself . Listen to their music….but stay tune to reality.

  62. Agnes Says:

Oh my God is really terrible.Stupid girls, they don’t realize what could have happened.I’m on the wheelchair but not because of the accident, but I know a few people who are handiccaped now because of their irresponsibility and is not ok:(

  63. Mom On The Run Says:

Great post! I also have posted a response on my blog. We would hate to have a repeat of what happened to Princess Diana, although her accident was caused by ruthless papparazzi, some of the fans can be just as ruthless. It’s so sad that the actions of 1 or 2 can ruin it all for the rest of us.

  64. melissa Says:

You know, I am glad Jonathan posted that blog. I went to one of the Boston concert’s and had the time of my life, It truely would be a dream to meet them especially Jon, but I cannot imagine stalking them or putting their life in danger for my fulfillment!
Thanks Jon for speaking your mind.
    love Melissa

i can’t understand why such people think they’re gonna have something more with that kind of stupid act but i guess when you are silly, stupid, and psychochologically unstable there’s nothing to do but only pray for them to kill nobody because i imagine that it’s obvious to think they’re gonna change their behaviour!! so i agree with jonathan and his angriness!!! it’s a good thing to let fans know that kind of problems!! glad he’s safe and jordan too!! love ! respect!!

  66. irene Says:

i can’t agree with jon more..that was sos tupid to risk everyones lives like that…people need to think more before acting…i love the new kids like crazy but what good is it if they are killed by some one being so stupid.please think before you act
    love you jon

  67. Tanya from Montreal Says:

    Jon,(as well as other readers)
what I dont get is yes the guys made a comebcak after 20 yrs and there album is amazing there tour and show is amazing but to follow there buses! seriously they are all normal human beings who are famous yes but like i reda in others comments if it meant to be that you meet them then so be it but to chase them come on thats utterly crazy !!!!I am so mad at these people who have no respect nor cares in the world !!!I hope people have read JOn’s blog and stop chasing there buses !!!!

  68. DawnMarie Says:

#1 Thank God everyone is ok.
#2 Know matter what you write there are still idiots out there, that will still follow you, try to get in your hotel and etc. because they have no lfe, and don’t care or think of the other people involed. And you have every right to be mad. #3 We all wish we could meet you guys, but that’s life and that’s why we go see you guys in concert. that’s all.
#4 Great show in phila on nov 5th. Had a blast.
#5 Actions speak louder then words.
#6 To all the fans, just relax and have a good time at their shows. Love, peace, and be responsible.

  69. Patty Says:

    Querido jon
    PATTY S.

  70. WickedlyWanton (Brandy) Says:

I’m sorry–there are a lot of morons out there who do not understand the concept of STALKING. Not only that, some of them would probably be fine with the fact that they died while chasing down a bus if it meant that they got to see one of the New Kids. It’s complete and utter b.s. And really, if she was “being 16 again,” someone needs to take her back home so she can be re-raised. I would never have done that–I probably would not have even honked or brought any attention to myself on the road because IT’S DANGEROUS! I would not have done that even at 16! Complete and utter idiocy…

  71. Christine Says:

People need to realize the danger they are putting everyone in when they do things like that. When I was 16 I never followed NKOTB’s tour bus like that. Now I am 35 and I still wouldn’t do that. People need to realize that these guys have wives and kids. Do they want to be responsible for the death of some child’s father?

  72. Get_Your_Mind_Right Says:

This is getting out of hand. Luckily, Jon sites a small few. If it were a large bunch, I fear they would dismantle again. Come on girls, let’s keep it together. We are happy they’re back, yes. On the other hand, we know better now, we’re adults for crying out loud.

  73. -mrsknight- Says:

greetings, jon is right, touring is fun but fans have to control their behavior.. we all know they are all hotties (especially jordan and jon), therefore, please act like adults and be safe out there. The guys came back for a reunion for the old fans and everyone should respect them. The only time they get to rest is in the bus. If you want to meet them so bad then try getting a meet and greet pass. I just met them at the Borgata Atlantic concert’s meet and greet and they were all so friendly.. Got hugs from all of them and even had a conversation with Jon.. Not all bands offer meet and greets, therefore, be courteous and act like an adult.. there is no need to put anyone’s life in danger.. these guys are gown men, married with children and they love their fans.. pleaase don’t ruin the FACETIME for the rest of us!

  74. Call me Al...Call me Al..da da da Says:

Advice to the guys. Please read.
    STOP REWARDING CRAZINESS.

I can’t tell you how glad I am that you wrote this- and even more glad that you wrote an edit to Joe. I agree 1000% with Jon and you- the guys need to be blunt and put it out there like it is. I have not yet seen the post on nkotb.com or nkotbfans, but I can only assume (just like in other cities where the bus has been followed) that the people following have met them before.

That being said, Joe, Jordan, Jon, Danny and Donnie- please understand that you have irrational fans who don’t know when one great photo or great experience is enough, and like a drug, they are chasing the high of meeting you, being around you, getting pictures with you, etc.

That being said, understand- these people who have met you 3-5 times already this tour WILL NOT STOP trying to meet you in other places and other ways. I have seen the photos on the site and the twitters back and forth. People with 3 and 4 5*’s, who ALSO met you back in the day many times or at your hotel/venue. They can’t read between the lines. They don’t understand that when Jon said he hates when people come to the hotel he means it. They will keep coming unless you all say you would like people to not do that. Jon was very clear about following the buses, yet because they haven’t heard you all say it, they will continue to do it, ‘from a safe distance’.

UNLESS YOU STAND UNITED AND LET PEOPLE KNOW AFTER THE 2ND OR 3RD PIC OR AUTOGRAPH THAT THEY HAVE HAD THEIR OPP AND SHOULD GIVE OTHER PEOPLE A CHANCE TO MEET YOU, THEY WILL KEEP COMING. Some of your fans are unstable and take EVERYTHING you say literally. Like Facetime.

I know that you have a tour and record labels, etc demanding certain things and you have to meet that demand, yet please fans. But the only way things will ever calm down is if you stop rewarding craziness. Whether that’s people following you, people you have taken pics with a million times, or staked out in the lobby of your hotel overnight or whatever.

Don’t be afraid to put it out there like it is. A true fan probably agrees with you, but certainly won’t love or respect you any less tomorrow. Good luck.

  75. Kansas City Fan Says:

How do we respond to jons message! I met him backstage last night in Kansas City, i think i was the only guy there. but it was awesome..and it was a great show! SOo contact me jon haha..you can see the pics on http://www.myspace.com/krod622

  76. Brigitta Says:

If someone caused an accident which killed one of my children because they were trying to meet celebrities they’d have to go into hiding for the rest of their lives because I would be after them. I’m not even going to be as nice as Jon about it. Grow the f*** up.
    Seriously.

  77. Mariana Says:

I am glad nothing bad happen to Jon and Jordan! Come on we have to be more mature and act responsably. Please stop putting the guys in danger. I pray for NKOTB and their families God bless them and keep them safe.

  78. lourdes Says:

God blesses to you and protects in the way wake up grow up… they spend time to you in a concert, they are not sufficient have family and they do not want to die by something stupid…. love you jonathan take care ..

  79. Hope Says:

I really hope that the individuals that did this are prosecuted. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Shameful.

  80. Ruth Says:

Please be considerate of laws, these girls should be put away for endangering others. I mean how crazy can you get. They are human just like us. They sing nice and are cute but you can’t go crazy, where is your class and manners. You need to realize that idolizing another human is not okay…God is the only person you should idolize. RESPECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

  81. Chrissy V Says:

Thank God you are ok!! Please know that those are not true fans, the true blue Blockheads would never act so stupidly!

  82. Blueiiiii (Rachael) Says:

    Hi there
I couldn’t add a comment to Jon’s Blog so Decided to Join in here….
Good on Jon for speaking his mind, too often we have to censor ourselves and we shouldn’t He said it in a nutshell really How scary for them and the passengers in that car to be put in a potentially deadly situation,I am just really glad that no one got hurt…Please think before you act, not only could you hurt or kill someone but it also might make the guys think twice about sharing their time with those of us who aren’t acting stupid!

  83. Hope Says:

I’m utterly disgusted by this idiot. How dare she do something that could get anyone killed or even seriously hurt. I saw you guys last night in KC, MO. You all put on a good show and I loved it when I blew a kiss to Donnie and he acknowledged it…OMG that was totally mindblowing. God Bless all of you and I hope you don’t have to deal with anymore psycho fans. Please come back to Wichita…we all miss you here.

  84. kate Says:

I’ve read your response to this and I’m in complete agreement. I can’t believe anyone would go so far as to place their own and other’s lives in jeopardy. Let’s face it…it’s fun for the few hours of the show to let down our hair and scream along with the songs, but after the show why can’t people act responsibly? I left the concert in Philly early because of a very drunk woman in my row who left me with a bunch of bruises. We are adults now and I know that is a harsh reality that no one wants to face, but it’s reality all the same.
I want to wish all of yins a safe and happy week and upcoming holiday seasons!

  85. Rochelle Says:

I agree with Jon & everyone else here, not only did these girls put Jon & Jordan in danger, let alone the innocent bystanders, and for what? A couple of pictures! I would rather them be safe than to chase their bus! Ignorant, selfish STUPID people. What would they have done if something tragic was to happen. You say, you were acting like your 16 again, well be an ADULT and act like your real age!

  86. brenda Says:

I completely agree with what Jon posted. I truely believe that when fans act crazy (which I have seen at concerts) you PUT LIVES IN DANGER… please people back off and realize they are people just like you and me with families and friends just like you and me.

  87. Rochelle Says:

It’s me again! I just wanted to finish off by saying, I am GREATFUL that nothing tragic happened to Jon & Jordan! I hope to see you guys back in San Jose again! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

  88. Jen K Says:

I am so glad that Jon spoke his mind, because these girls are straight up crazy! If you want to be 16 again get out your old Cd’s, magazines,T’s etc and call up your girlfreinds. If you want to meet the boys so badly buy the 5* VIP like I did. You get great Face Time with no risk of death or injury to the group you claim to love!!!!!

  89. Rachel Says:

You know…Jon’s story is one of the worst crazy fan stories I’ve heard yet. Seriously people…automobile crash deaths are one of the leading reasons for deaths in the U.S. WTF are people thinking when they do stupid crap like that? JUST because someone is a celeb does not mean they are fair game and that their life is any less valuable than anyone else. After reading Jon’s blog, I surely thought it had happened in STL because I heard from a fellow concert-goer that she chased down a tour bus too…and she was sober! People just don’t think. Perhaps the guys should address this stuff at their concert, “Ladies…when we leave please don’t chase us down and try to kill us on the highway!”

  90. Victoria Carter Says:

I’d want Jonathan to know that HE WAS HEARD. That is a matter of life and death and crazy fans just don’t THINK. They just don’t THINK about safety and consequences. And I feel for him and his driver and all of the guys who experience that crap. Pray for safety and make wise choices…guess that’s all you can do, right? But kuddos for the blog on something that serious.

  91. Lynn Says:

I’m so glad you guys are okay. Jon, I’m glad you got that off your chest…I’m proud of you. I know your message is not going towards me(since I don’t even drink). Even if I did, I wouldn’t do a crazy thing like that! I wouldn’t put my life and yours at risk. I love myself and I love you guys. Advice: Pray everytime you get on the bus and trust me you’ll be fine. God bless you!

    Ciao

  92. Lynn Says:

    Wait…they weren’t even drunk?
    Wow, they are really idiots!!!!

  93. LAURA Says:

WOW!!! I’M REALLY GLAD YOU ARE SAFE. GOD BLESS YOU GUYS ON YOUR TOUR! LOVE YOU!

  94. Nancy Says:

I am so glad that this was brought to everyone’s attention. This is something that never should have happened. I’m glad that everyone is ok,since it could have been worse. To the ladies that caused this, GET A GRIP AND GROW UP!

  95. lisa from st louis mo Says:

Jon- I’m glad to hear that you and Jordan are safe. Just want to let you and the rest of the guys the show in St.Louis Mo. It’s the first that I got to see you all. Hoping it won’t be the last. People do need to have more repect for others! I know everyone thinks they are teenagers again and thats great but, you and the other guys are human too! You all have friends and families how cares, just more that the fans that you all perform for. I’m very glad that everyone is ok. Hope to see all of you again soon. lisa

  96. April Says:

Well said Jon! Since the November 2 Tampa show, I can honestly say I know what it’s like to feel 13 again! The show was absolutely amazing and I didn’t have a voice for 3 days after! However, GROWN WOMEN who act the way these girls did, putting themselves and everyone on Jon and Jordan’s bus in danger, should be ashamed of themselves! Especially doing it in the name of fandom and “being 16 again”…that is ridiculous! We have been so lucky to see these guys tour again after 15 years…something I’m sure alot of us never thought we’d see again! We get to have those years back now, screaming and singing and loving them SO much and, in my opinion, it’s even better now that we are all grown up! It’s fanastic to FEEL like a teenager again but, especially in this case, so not cool to act the way these girls did!!

  97. tammy magee Says:

jonathon i would like to say i am glad you posted that blog alot of us are to old to be chasing the buses around i know after the Dallas,Texas concert i went back home don’t get me wrong I would have love to meet all of you but I have so much respect for you guys and want you to be safe and take care of yourself’s hope you come back to Texas really soon.
    Love,
    Tammy
    Sweetwater,Texas

  98. Hege Says:

Wow Jon I am glad that you are ok.that sounds so scary. And yes that was not a very smart thing to do.danger your lives their lives and others.I would follow the bus behind them and wait for a rest stop to try to get autograph, not chase them down, that is just to dangerous.I hope you fans out there would be more responsible. The way you act you act like the paparazzi.did you all forget what happen to Princess Diana.yes I know there is different stories what happen, one thing for sure was they were followed and cameras flashing.
please guys stay safe.glad you are ok.take care

  99. Breanne Says:

So agree with Jon’s blog. We do not have the right to put all of the band/crew/staff or anyone on the road at risk because we are fans. Yes I would also love to meet them, but don’t have any fantasies except maybe the chance at a great photo and a few mins of their time, but for that will wait and next time in StL will buy 5* VIP to get that. I would never put myself or others at risk. Do keep in mind they are just ppl too, they have families, loved ones, and would be missed if some careless action were to take them from this world. Please think things over and keep a safe distance or better yet let them get on their way safe, take fond memories from the show, and as a fan go home. Also another point to discuss so much drinking at shows, please take a designated driver with you, arrange for someone to come pick you up, or take alternative forms of transportation. We don’t need obsessed, drunk fans on the roads doing dumb things. Please ppl get your minds right, enjoy the ride, and be safe at all times. All of us including NKOTB deserve that!!! Thanks.

  100. AnA Says:

    Hi,

Because i am a huge fan of NKOTB i just think that these actions are causing the artist disslike us fans and if you expect some kind of nice treatment i would suggest to be a bit nicer yourself. I mean really chasing the tourbus!! How old are you 12…. I guess that is why you only get your driverslicense after you have passed a certain age.. apperently this never happened to the crazy girls trying to kill the most awesome band ever…
I wonder what there reaction would be if they had succeeded..
Well i am just glad that nothing happened and everyone is ok but let this be a huge lesson for us fans to realize that NKOTB are just humanbeings like you and me with extrodinary talents which we love:):)

    Peace Love

    AnA from Amsterdam

  101. lupita Says:

Im so sorry that you have to go through experiences like this because of your fame. It is not fair that someone would put your life and many others at risk for a dumb picture. I am glad & proud that you had the courage to speakup.

  102. Wendy Says:

I agree with Jon’s anger over this situation. I think all of our lives at one time or another has been touched by these ’stupid drivers.’ In my case my father was taken by a stupid driver back in ‘85 when I was 9. People really need to think and pay attention when behind the wheel of a car and chasing a tour bus is just pathetic. Give them a break!! I really hope that all these posts can at least make that group of girls a little more aware of what they are doing next time and I hope Jon knows that the majority of your fans respect your privacy and pray for all of your safty on this tour.

  103. Tina Says:

I have to agree with everyone especially Jon, driving can be scary at times especially when you aren’t familiar with where you are going. Driving is very dangerous, a friend/co-worker of mine just lost his daughter this past weekend in a car accident she was only 17. It is nice to meet people in bands but come on people that’s what concerts are for. We are no longer little kids, those guys have families now you have got to think before you act stupid. Think about their children, we grew up with our parents they need theirs. Following tour buses now is more like stalking, people will go to jail for things like this. Its not worth getting yourself injured, hurt or killed especially someone else. I for one could not live with myself if I caused an accident. As I mentioned earlier a friend lost their daughter this weekend due to a car accident which I happened to drive past that day few minutes after it happened didn’t know who it was until the next day I went to work. It is very dramatizing to here that first thing on a Monday morning. Leave these guys alone when they are on the road, driving is dangerous. Its bad enough you have to worry about other drivers, but have to worry about ignorant fans is another problem. Quit being stupid, buy tickets if you want to meet them. After my experience this past weekend driving for me isn’t the same. The Block be careful out there, and be safe sorry you guys had to go through that, I’m just glad that everyone is safe. One other thing, I want to be able to go see another one of the NKOTB’s concert don’t you? AGAIN QUIT BEING SO D**N STUPID WE ARE NO LONGER KIDS WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR ACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  104. Stefanie Says:

Wow .. i have read it on NKOTB.com.. damn sum ppl are going crazy.. I mean yeah they are the NKOTB.. but hey gurls..The times also need rest. Especially, they also have a private life. Some seem not to understand that we live in this danger can bring. I must say I find something really scheisse. I’m sorry for my choice of words. But I’m a little shocked just how far some fans go. I do not know what I have to say it. I’m really speechless

  105. Angela Says:

The old saying goes. You can’t fix stupid!.

I feel so sorry for Jonathan and the guys for some “girls” immaturity!.

I am glad the boys are ok though!.

  106. Tiffany Earnest Says:

    Hey guys,
I am truly sorry for how those girls completely responded that evening. I am a paramedic in Chicago, I have have seen plenty of motor vehicle incidents (we call them incidents because accidents are preventable) and I can tell you for personal experience, it is not a pretty site to see the wreckage and fatalities. Those girls do need to grow up and learn a little lesson in life know as responsibility. Hope you all are well.

  107. Mia Haney Says:

    Well said Jon! Damned Freaks!

  108. Shanna Says:

I just want to let everyone know what Jon said is absolutely true of these buses and any large vehicle. My hubby drives truck and many companies tell their drivers to just hit you if you cut them off! The reason is because these big vehicles can do more damage slamming on the brakes than just driving thru you(I have seen pics it really would be right thru you). So please think when you are on the road… I personally don’t care if you pull up beside and decide to lift your shirt or whatever your inner 16 year old would have you do. JUST DO IT SAFELY!!! If you don’t think these situations are dangers do us all a favor go to your local DMV and hand over your license ask them to file it under dumbass cause these drivers do not want your death on their conscience!

  109. Erin Karleen (Vancouver) Says:

All I have to say is SOOO SORRY!!!I apoligize to any of the guys who doubt why they are back on tour for this kind of behavior!I have been a huge fan for many years but even when I was a teen, yes I would do anything to meet NKOTB but never would endanger anyone’s lives.Guys no matter what, you will run into idiots but remember their are many more fans out there that won’t try and kill you and just want to know you.Girls be smart stay safe and don’t be stupid. We want NKOTB to be around for a long time so we all can go to their concerts and enjoy their music and talent(and good looks)Good Luck NKOTB with the rest of your tour(s)let them be safe, fun, and memorable.

  110. Claudia Says:

We were at the Ft.Laud show and saw the buses leave, but we didn’t follow them, we just sadly waved goodbye from the parking lot…..our car had died and we were stranded there for some time.

Now, if the bus had stopped to give is a ride, THAT would have been one good story to tell. Ha ha.
