Make way for another new kid on the block: Joey McIntyre has added a second boy to his brood.

Wife Barrett delivered son Rhys Edward McIntyre at 9 p.m. Sunday in Los Angeles, the singer’s rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. “He and his mom are both rock stars,” McIntyre, 36, Tweeted on Monday.

Rhys weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz.

McIntyre and Barrett, who announced the pregnancy in July, are already parents to elder son Griffin Thomas, 2.

Will the family continue to grow? “I think we have a deal to keep going until we have a girl,” laughs McIntyre. “That’s what my wife says.”

Here We Go Again, McIntyre’s latest solo work, is now available on iTunes. On Sunday, the singer will join the New Kids on the Block for a holiday concert in their Boston hometown.

Didn’t get a chance to see the New Kids on the Block on tour? Now you can have Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood and Jordan and Jonathan Knight in your living room when the group releases its concert DVD on Feb. 2.

From early rehearsals to inside the recording studio, NKOTB’s Coming Home DVD is “bringing you back to the very first moment of the reunion step by step until today,” Donnie Wahlberg tells PEOPLE. “It’s kind of like a yearbook – only from a 15 year high school reunion.”

The DVD includes the singers’ performance of classics like “Step by Step” – and unseen footage from the groups fan cruise to the Bahamas, where Wahlberg and Wood surprised fans in their cabins. Wahlberg has a soft spot for replaying the fan footage, saying, “the emotion from the fans, in every arena throughout the tour, was so intense,” he says. “It gives me chills every time I watch it.”

Get ready for more chills, Donnie. The reunion party will continue in 2010 when the boys hit the high seas again on a sold-cruise in May. And there will be ten golden keys hidden in the deluxe and super deluxe DVD box sets that will grant lucky fans two tickets to any future NKOTB concert.

Says Wahlberg: “We hope to find new ways to give our fans no less as we move forward.”

Pulp singer given honorary degree

The singer studied at the institution when it was Sheffield Polytechnic

Former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker has been given an honorary degree in his home city of Sheffield.

The singer picked up the doctorate at Sheffield Hallam University.

Cocker, who has also had success as a solo artist and radio producer, studied at the institution when it was Sheffield Polytechnic.

Receiving his certificate at a ceremony at City Hall, the 46-year-old said: “I’m called a doctor now. Don’t worry, I won’t open a surgery.”

He added: “But I guess if you are a songwriter maybe I could have some kind of musical surgery.

It’s a great honour to be given this, especially in my home town
Jarvis Cocker

“If you had a song with a swollen chorus, or a varicose verse, or if you need a little bit of help I could try and heal your song for you.”

Cocker did an access course at the poly before winning a place at Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.

The singer had his big break with Pulp at Sheffield Polytechnic in 1981 when they handed over a demo tape to John Peel, and he invited them to record a session for Radio 1.

The band went on to be nominated for a Mercury Music Prize in 1994 and the following year their single Common People reached number two in the charts.

In the past decade the singer has launched a solo career and also moved into film-making and art.

He told graduates at City Hall, who were there to collect certificates, that he had done most of his learning outside formal classrooms.

“Sometimes people call it the university of life,” he said.

“The only trouble with the university of life is the graduation when you’ve checked out, so it’s nice to actually have a graduation whilst I’m still here to enjoy it.

“It’s a great honour to be given this, especially in my home town.”

Wooo!! Now to get him on the Sheffield Walk of Fame next to Def Leopard!

Tuesday November 10,2009

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK star JORDAN KNIGHT is hosting an unofficial singing contest across the U.S. to give one talented fan his or her big break.

The singer came up with the idea of holding a ‘Jordan Idol’ competition to audition skilled vocalists while he was travelling across the U.S., working on his upcoming solo album.

He began filming fans who showed up outside his recording studio in Boston, Massachusetts and posting their performances on clip-sharing website YouTube.com, prompting more and more wannabe pop stars to flock to meet him at his next stop in Nashville, Tennessee.

He tells MTV.com, “A lot of fans showed up outside the recording studio, and I just went out there with a (video camera). I said, ‘Who here could sing? Maybe you could sing background on my record?’ And a couple girls sang, and I posted it up on YouTube.

“I want to have fun with the fans. I want to hear them sing, and who knows? Maybe there is someone out there who can really put it down (perform well), and if I have the connections to help them out, it’s kind of always been a dream of mine to help somebody out.”

Knight’s next stop is in New York, where he hopes to find a true star.

He adds, “New York is one of the entertainment capitals of the world, so I’m sure there’s a lot of singers here. They don’t have to have the perfect look, the perfect voice, the perfect moves – they just have to have something special. It’s hard to come by. I’m looking for ‘it’. ‘It’, are you out there?”

Joes releasing a new single and heres the premier as recorded (gently borrowed until the release date?) from the webstream of Donnies on-air appearance on CHUM-FM (Toronto radio station)

Also to go along with the release of the new record, Joes revamped his official site – with new pics, links to iTunes (though for us in the UK still only links to ‘Talk to Me’ – his cover of standards), photos and more.

Would have updated this sooner, but been away home for the last week, working crazy hours and VERY jetlagged.
